The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard Service said the likelihood of recovering the bodies of the two persons missing since the tragic accident at Owia on January 12th, is very slim.
Petit Officer Lennox Williams, the officer in charge of diving operations at the local Coast Guard Service, gave the grim assessment at a news conference on Wednesday.
Petit Officer Williams explained that given the rough sea conditions on the morning of the accident and other environmental factors, the bodies of the missing victims would be difficult to recover.
Meanwhile, Petit Officer Williams said the Coast Guard responded to reports of the possible sighting of a human limb by a fisherman in Sandy Bay on Sunday.
