Work on an additional bypass route in the Ginger Village Section of the Vigie Highway at Belmont, is expected to be begin by the middle of February.
Word of this has come from Chief Engineer in the Ministry of Transport and Works Brent Bailey.
In September 2013, a landslide damaged sections of the Vigie Highway and since then a bypass route has been used to assist motorists travelling from the Mesopotamia Valley to Kingstown.
Mr. Bailey said the Ministry of Transport and Works will construct an additional bypass route to alleviate the traffic congestion which occurs on the current bypass.
Mr. Bailey this additional bypass route is expected to be fully operational by May of this year.
