The Ministry of Transport and Works says it is continuing to develop designs for the Ginger Village Section of the Viggie Highway at Belmont.
This follows a landslide which damaged sections of the Viggie Highway in Belmont in September 2013.
Since this section of the highway was damaged an alternate route has been used to assist motorists travelling from the Mesopotamia Valley to Kingstown.
Chief Engineer in the Ministry of Transport and Works, Brent Bailey said they met with the Consultants in December 2014 and they anticipate that the detailed designs will be completed by mid-February.
Mr. Bailey said once the designs are approved they will commence the tendering process for work on the Ginger Village Section of the Viggie Highway at Belmont.
He added that they expect to have work commence on this project by September of this year.
