Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has pointed to the need to improve the operations of the Customs and Excise Department to be more business-friendly.
The Prime Minister expressed his concerns in response to a question from the media during a News Conference this week.
Dr. Gonsalves called on the management of the department to examine its operations in an effort to make improvements where necessary.
He said the government has made several recommendations in the estimates.
Dr. Gonsalves also expressed displeasure with the number of complaints about the valuation processes of the Customs and Excise Department.
