Registrar of Cooperatives, Cecil Jackson has called on Vincentians to continue making use of locally produced fruits and vegetables.
He made this appeal during remarks at the launch of the Co-operative Farmers Market at Heritage Square earlier this month.
Mr. Jackson said he is confident that if the cooperatives continue to work together, the local Agricultural sector will benefit significantly.
He said however all this work will be done in vain if the local population does not support the farmers and he is encouraging Vincentians to purchase locally produced fruits and vegetables.
He is also appealing to local farmers and other producers to improve the appearance of their packaging when selling produce to ensure that their businesses meet international standards.
