The Ministry of Agriculture will be taking steps in the New Year to address the issue of poorly maintained banana plantations.
Word of this came from Agriculture Minister Saboto Caesar, during his remarks at the opening of the 14th Annual General Assembly of the SVG Fair Trade Organization on Tuesday.
Minister Caesar said there are some Farmers who do not pay enough attention to the proper management of their fields.
He said this presents a challenge to officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, who are trying to control the spread of the Black Sigatoka leaf spot disease.
