The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation held a one-day Goal Keeping Workshop yesterday, a Practical session at Victoria Park and a classroom session at the SVG Football Federation Conference Room.
The Workshop heard remarks from President Venold Coombs and Technical Director Keith Ollivierre.
Referee and past National Goalkeeper, John Hinds, opened the training with the first presentation as he introduced the young and upcoming keepers to the Laws of the Game, followed by Goal Keeping footages led by the Technical Director.
The afternoon practical sessions were conducted by National Goalkeeping Coach Kevin Richardson, Urtis Blackette and John Hinds, with assistance from National Coach Cornelius Huggins.
(35) Goalkeepers male and female took part, as well as students from the Primary and Secondary Schools. The youngsters came from a far as North Leeward to Owia.
The young goalkeepers were trained in the areas of handling of the ball, diving, back passes, angling, free kicks and dealing with crosses.
