Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves will be among leaders from the region attending the tenth ALBA Summit in Cuba today
The Summit is being held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of ALBA, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of the Americas.
Officials say the Summit will discuss the achievements of the regional alliance, and will also include a memorial lecture in the framework of the session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
ALBA is an intergovernmental organization based on the idea of the social, political and economic integration of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
The nine member countries of ALBA are St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Nicaragua, St. Lucia and Venezuela.
Last week, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has to date secured 130.4 million dollars from the Petro Caribe Fund.
