The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority said it will continue to monitor the spread of the Chikungunya viral disease in an effort to minimize its impact on the local tourism industry.
The assurance came from Chief Executive Officer, Glen Beache, as he updated the media on the work of the authority.
The Tourism Authority is the national agency entrusted with the responsibility of promoting the country as a tourist destination, developing standards and regulating the quality of service of the local tourism service providers.
Mr. Beache said the Authority is keeping abreast of the outbreak as some countries have issued warnings to their citizens in relation to traveling to affected countries.
