Vincentian Hanif Johnson will be ordained to the Holy Order of Priests in the Anglican Archdeaconry of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, at a ceremony to take place here next week.
A release from the Church says the Ordination of Reverend Johnson will take place on Monday December 8th at 5:00 pm, at the St. George’s Cathedral, Kingstown. Monday marks the feast of the Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Deacon Johnson is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Barbados where he holds a bachelor in Theology; he also holds an Associate of Science Degree from the UWI Open Campus, SVG.
The former Greggs resident is a past student of the Emmanuel High School, Mesopotamia and was Valedictorian when he graduated in 1992. He is a Constable of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, having worked in several departments and he credits the organization for instilling in him discipline and obedience.
The Ordination will be administered by Bishop of the Windward Islands, Leopold Friday.
The newly ordained Priest will celebrate his First Mass on Wednesday December 10th, at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Greggs at 6:00 pm.
