The ceremony was held at Beachcombers Hotel yesterday, and was attended by Governor General’s Deputy Susan Dougan; Ministers of Government; Members of the Diplomatic Corps; Family and Friends.
In his address Mr. Providence said he anticipates that this new position, will strengthen existing ties between St. Vincent and the Mexico.
Meanwhile … Foreign Affairs Minister Camillo Gonsalves described Mr. Providence as a Titan of Business and a man who is best suited for the job of Honorary Consul.
And … Mexican Ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Luis Manuel Lopez Moreno says over the last ten years there have been significant achievements in bilateral relations between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Mexico.
Last night’s ceremony also featured the symbolic cutting of the ribbon, to mark the opening of the Office of the Honorary Consul of Mexico to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines established relations with Mexico in 1990.
