More than 20 representatives of community groups and NGO’s from across St Vincent and the Grenadines have benefited from training geared towards addressing issues of Communication and Knowledge Management.
A release from Sustainable Grenadines Inc. SUSGREN says the two-day workshop was held last weekend at the Fisheries Division.
The forum came on the heels of a previous meeting which was held with key stakeholders to identify the major challenges facing civil society groups and how to work towards addressing the issues for sustainability and effective management.
Participants took part in several group activities and made presentations based on actual projects that were being implemented which provided the view of how they could apply what they have learned to better engage their communities and groups.
National Coordinator for the GEF – Small Grants Programme for SVG Hayden Billingy said the workshop was timely and essential for internal and external communication using traditional and modern media, especially social media in communicating project activities and outputs and to gain the participation and involvement of the general public.
All participants were given a toolkit which they will be able to use as a reference and a training guide when sharing information with group members.
The training was organised by Sustainable Grenadines Inc (SusGren) through support from the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Program
