A delegation from the Catholic Church, including His Eminence Renato Raffaele Cardinal Martino, is expected to arrive here tomorrow for an official two day state visit.
The delegation will arrive at twelve noon tomorrow and will be met on arrival by Deputy Prime Minister Girlyn Miguel; Cabinet Secretary Kattian Barnwell and other Government and State Officials.
While here the delegation will pay courtesy calls on Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne; Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves and Opposition Leader Arnhim Eustace.
There will also be a Celebration of Holy Mass at the Cathedral of the Assumption in Kingstown; an Awards Ceremony at the Pastoral Centre at Edinboro, as well as visits to the St. Martin’s Secondary School; the School for Children with Special Needs and the St. Benedict’s Children Home in Georgetown.
The visit will end with a Cocktail Reception at the Residence of the Prime Minister.
The Most Eminent Cardinal Martino was appointed Cardinal Proto-Deacon by His Holiness Pope Francis in June this year, on the occasion of the Ordinary Public Consistory for the canonization of the some of the blessed.
