Mrs. Florence Morgan of Prospect became this country’s newest centenarian yesterday.
Mrs. Morgan celebrated her 100th birthday in the company of Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne; Deputy Prime Minister Girlyn Miguel; Parliamentary Representative Clayton Burgin; Family Members and Friends.
Sir Frederick said he has observed that centenarians have certain qualities in common. They have a strong belief in God and that faith helps them to overcome lots of difficulties in their daily lives.
The centenarian, Mrs. Morgan, gave praise to God for all those who came to celebrate with her.
Mrs. Morgan’s daughter, Mrs. Anselma Rose, states she is happy that her mother can be recognized for the important contribution she has made to the development of the community and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Mrs. Morgan has five children, one of whom is deceased.
