Former Registrar of the High Court, Tamara Gibson-Marks was fined 10-thousand, 5-hundred EC dollars on Tuesday this week, on charges of theft and abuse of authority.
Mrs. Gibson-Marks had pleaded guilty last week to a charge of stealing 21-thousand, 925-EC dollars and abuse of her authority as Registrar of the High Court.
Director of Public Prosecutions, (DPP), Colin Williams discontinued the third charge of providing a false certificate.
Magistrate, Carla James fined the former Registrar 4-thousand, 5-hundred EC-dollars, to be paid in one month or three months imprisonment, on the charge of Theft.
In relation to the charge of Abuse of Authority she was ordered to pay 6-thousand EC-dollars in three months or spend six months in jail.
Mrs. Gibson-Marks was represented in court by St. Lucian lawyer, Alberton Richelieu.
That sentence is a slap on the wrist. why was the accused not ordered to make restitution for the amount stolen?
