A release from the Carnival Development Corporation, CDC, says the postponement is due to the delay in the arrival of Trophies from Trinidad Trophies Ltd.
The CDC said, in the past, it had sourced trophies out of New York but in keeping with a request from the components for better quality trophies more in line with the festival, it had contracted the Trinidad firm to supply the 2014 trophies.
The ceremony will now take place next week Thursday October 2nd, at the Murray Heights Hotel, from five in the afternoon.
The event will hear address from Minister of Culture Cecil Mckie and Chairman of the Carnival
Development Corporation, CDC, Dennis Ambrose.
Remarks will also come from the President of the Youlou Pan Movement Oneka Morgan, President of the Calypsonians Association Ann Miller and the Chairman of the Mas Bands Association, Hugh Ragguette.
