Chairman of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Reparations Committee, Government Senator Jomo Thomas has reiterated that the Reparations Movement is not simply about money.
He made this point during NBC’s Face to Face programme last week.
The discussion was held as part of a week of activities organized by the Committee to mark the First Anniversary of the launch of the Regional Reparations Movement here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Senator Thomas said one of the main objectives of the reparations movement is to educate people of African descent about their history and heritage.
Senator Thomas said the history of Africans in the region did not begin with slavery and they are seeking to have people accept this fact and be proud of who they are.
