Work is continuing in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for Local Organizations to implement projects geared at the preservation of the environment through the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP).
The GEF SGP which is implemented through the United Nations Development Programme, provides funding to community based, non-governmental and faith based organizations, to develop projects focusing on the sustainable Forest Management, Reduction of Organic Pollutants and Protection of International Waters, among others.

Martin Barriteau said his organization kicked off a workshop yesterday which is aimed at training groups to be better equipped to apply for funding under the GEF and other programs.
