Dragons won the Under-16 Title of the Vita Malt Bequia Basketball Championship with a 2-straight game win over Rockets in the best of a 3-game series Final last weekend at the Clive Tannis Hard Court in Port Elizabeth.
In the 1st game, Dragons defeated Rockets 39-24. The leading scorer for Dragons was Kirsty Bailey with 16 points, 1 assist and 2 steals, while Omario Louie was the leading scorer for Rockets with 9 points.
And in the 2nd game, Dragons clinched the Title with a 40-31 victory over Rockets. Kirsty Bailey was the top scorer for Dragons with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Rockets was led by Reon Ollivierre with 19 points.
In the 2nd Division Knockout semi-final game, Denroy Hutchins hit a game high 28 points, 15 rebounds as Blazing Heat powered past Wizards 61-42. The top scorer for Wizards was Lenroy Lavia with 15 points.
Also in the 2nd Division Knockout semi-final, Rising Stars (2) had the better of Young Duke beating them 55-47. Leading the way for Rising Stars (2) was Stelson Marshall with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist. Marko Browne was Young Duke top scorer with 15 points.
And in 1st Division Knockout semi-final, Warriaz won from Rising Stars (1) 64-46. The top scorer for Warriaz was Warrican Myers with 19 points, 23 rebounds and 3 assists, while Kirstin Lampkin was Rising Stars top scorer with 29 points.
In the other 1st Division Knockout semi-final: Duke eclipsed East Blazers 94-68. The top scorer for Duke was Keithroy Lavia with a game high 31 points and 5 assists. Michael Peniston was East Blazers leading scorer with 17 points.
Tomorrow from 7:30 pm, Rising Stars (2) and Blazing Heat will meet in the 1st game, of the 2nd Division best of three series Finals and Duke will clash with Warriaz in the 1st game of the 1st Division best of three series Finals from 9:30 pm.
