The Ministry of Education will be seeking to continuously improve the overall performance of students in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Examinations
This commitment was given by Minister of Education Girlyn Miguel as she addressed a ceremony held here on Monday mark the official release of the May/June examinations results by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).
This year’s examinations recorded significant improvements in various subject areas, including Mathematics which recorded a 47.03 percent pass rate as compared to 28.44 percent in 2013.
Minister Miguel said while the results are commendable, efforts must be made to improve students’ performance in all subject areas.
Minister Miguel said there was also a modest improvement in English passes.
