Rockets are through to the Under-16 Knockout Final of the Vita Malt Bequia Basketball Championship following a 47-36 victory over Hawks yesterday at the Clive Tannis Hard Court in Port Elizabeth.
The leading scorer for Rockets was Reon Ollivierre with a game high 27 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist, while Dessian Stowe was the top scorer for Hawks with 11 points.
And, Dragons beat Hornets 32-19 in other semi-final. Kirsty Bailey was the top scorer for Dragons with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Michael Peniston with 5 points led the way for Hornets.
In the First Division, National player I-Shama McCree hit a game high 28 points, 2 assist and 1 steal led Duke to an 81-77 win over Wizards.
The leading scorer for Wizards was Xavaugh Dennie with 17 points.
The Championship will continue tomorrow with game 1 of best of 3 series the Under-16 Division Finals between Dragons and Rockets from 6 pm.
Later at 7 pm, the 2nd Division Knockout Game will see Wizards (2) facing-off with Blazing Heat and at 9:30 pm, Rising Stars (1) will clash with Warriaz in a 1st Division Knockout game.
