Residents from Evesham and surrounding areas will be involved in a march and rally this weekend, to express their concern about the upsurge in gun violence and crime in the community.
The march and rally is one of several initiatives agreed to at a meeting of the residents held last month.
According to Phyllis John-Primus, a member of the planning committee, the march and rally will be held under the theme: All hands On Deck to Save Evesham.
Mrs John-Primus says the initiative has a number of objectives.
The march and all will take place this Sunday August 24th, starting at the Evesham Methodist School at 3pm, and ending at the Windsor Gap.
Prayers will be said at strategic locations along the way to declare peace, and break the chains of crime and violence.
The feature address at the event will be delivered by Comptroller of Customs and Excise, Lawyer, Grenville John.
