12-teams have so far registered to take part in the 2014 Hairoun Beer/Kirk Da Silva Marriaqua Football Championship which opens on Sunday at the Cane End Playing Field from 3 pm.
Sunday’s Opening Ceremony will see the March-Pass of the competing Teams and will hear Addresses from Sponsors and Sporting Officials, followed by an opening League match between defending champions Down Street United and Country meets Town Out-Ah-Trouble.
This year’s Championship will be played in three Divisions, an Under-15, Under-18, a First Division and a Premier Division.
There will be a Meeting for teams on Thursday at the Adult Literacy Office in Mesopotamia at 6:30 pm.
