Local Songwriter and Musician, Orande ‘Bomani’ Charles, said he is pleased that the region is making progress in its efforts to ensure the lawful collection of royalties for creative works such as music.
He made the point while speaking on the police on the Beat programme aired on NBC Radio on Monday, which focused issues relating to payments for the use of copy-write materials.
Mr. Charles said the formation of the Eastern Caribbean Collective Organization (ECCO) has resulted in significant benefits for the producers of creative works.
Mr. Charles also said persons are also becoming increasingly conscious about issues related copy write infringement.
