Lawyer and Government Senator Jomo Thomas and Businessman Carlos James have been confirmed by the National Council of the ruling Unity Labour Party, as candidates in the next General Election.
The two were confirmed at a meeting of the Council held at the Memorial Hall on Thursday.
Senator Thomas will contest the South Leeward seat, while Mr. James will be the ULP candidate in the North Leeward constituency.
The Council is currently preparing a timetable for candidate selection in each of the other 12 constituencies.
During the upcoming months, the constituency councils will be selecting proposed candidates, whose names will be forwarded to the Central Executive to be cleared and then sent to the National Council to be confirmed.
General Elections are constitutionally due in St. Vincent and the Grenadines by March 2016
