Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has again made it clear that the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines will not consider introducing an Economic Citizenship Programme here.
Responding to a question from the media at a News Conference yesterday, the Prime Minister stressed that the Government will not reconsider its position on the issue, despite the fact that some countries in the OECS are moving in this direction.
The Prime Minster stressed that he is fundamentally opposed to the concept of economic citizenship. He however noted that this country’s laws allow for some non-nationals to become citizens, under specific circumstances.
