The newly-formed Cocoa Producers Cooperative Society Limited (COPCO) will hold a General Meeting this afternoon, to discuss the future of the Vincentian cocoa industry.
A release from the Society says today’s meeting will receive reports, elect Directors and outline the way forward for the Industry.
The release says today’s meeting is strategically important because COPCO is poised to negotiate a joint venture in Cocoa processing.
Chairman of the Interim Steering Committee of COPCO, Oscar Allen says Farmers can benefit significantly from this initiative.
Mr. Allen says a number of important decisions have to be taken before the Industry can begin to develop and benefit from the opportunities which are available.
Today’s meeting is scheduled to take place at Frenches House from four this afternoon.
