Ten youngsters have been selected to participate in step two of a scuba diving workshop hosted by the Union Island based Grenadines Dive .
The participants were chosen from the first stage of the workshop which included training in diving physiology, safety gear, and basic skills among others.
The candidates chosen are expected to take part in a full performance open water scuba diving certification course that is expected to begin next week Wednesday August 6th.
The recent scuba workshop and the upcoming scuba certification course are two of the 31 activities in a two year project undertaken by the Mayreau Regatta and Sporting Committee.
The project is designed to protect the biodiversity of the grenadine waters by building capacity to capture and consume the lion fish.
