The South East Development Incorporated will be hosting a summer programme next month as part of the group’s recruitment plan for South East Steel Orchestra.
A release from the group says the programme will target children 7 years and older, with the participants receiving basic training in Music (both theory and practical) with the steel pan as the instrument of focus.
The programme will also emphasize social skills like interpersonal communication and conflict resolution.
The sessions, which take place over a 2-week period, begin on Monday August 4 and will run from 1 – 4 p.m. at the South East pan yard in Stubbs.
The South East Steel Orchestra placed 2nd in the 2014 National Panorama Competition and are the producers of the HEARTS OF STEEL concert.
