A resident of Diamond became this country’s latest road fatality on the weekend.
Police say 43-year-old Nigel John of Diamonds died after being involved in an accident at Ratho Mill.
Reports indicate that John was a passenger in a white jeep, P1982 owned and driven by Reynold Nickie of South Rivers.
Police say the vehicle ran off the Ratho Mill public road and went over an embankment, at about 7:58 on Saturday morning.
The Driver of the vehicle Reynold Nickie is reported to have sustained injuries to his head and shoulders, and was treated at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and discharged.
However, Nigel John sustained injuries about his body and died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
His death brings the total number of road fatalities for the year to eight.
