The Richmond Vale Academy says it is making progress in its tree-planting programme as Vincentians continue to respond favorably to the now-popular Moringa Tree.
The tree-planting campaign forms part of the Climate Compliance Conference – a 10-year project to encourage Vincentians to adapt to the challenges of Global Warming and Climate Change.
Principal of the Academy, Stina Herberg, said the Environment Online (ENO) programmeseeks to mobilize small island states to plant many trees as deforestation is one of the biggest environmental problems.
Miss Herberg said nearly 100 schools and community groups here have registered for the first Treelympics, putting this country ahead of any other country in the Caribbean as well as many others around the globe.
