The Ministry of Agriculture, forestry and Fisheries is continuing to implement new initiatives aimed at developing the Agricultural Sector.
As a result, local Farmers are now being given the opportunity to lessen the amount of time used to plough their lands, through the Agriculture Mechanization Program, which was launched this week.
Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caesar says that approximately one-thousand acres of land will be brought under production by utilizing tractor services under the Farmers Support Company.
He says the tractor services provided to Farmers will significantly reduce the length of time taken to prepare their lands.
Minister Caesar added that the Ministry will be working in collaboration with Private Tractor Owners in this project, and he’s encouraging operators to lend their services to Farmers across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
