Minister of Foreign Affairs Camillo Gonsalves has refuted the US State Department’s 2014 Trafficking in Persons Report, in which St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been placed on the Tier 2 Watch List.
Minister Gonsalves gave a critical analysis of the report at the opening of a two-day Sensitization Workshop to counter Human Trafficking on Tuesday.
He stated that the United States did contact any of the officials’ responsible for human trafficking in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Minister Gonsalves also said that St. Vincent and the Grenadines is the only country in which the report does not indicate where the traffickers are going to and where they are coming from.
The two day sensitization workshop on how two counter human trafficking wrapped up today at the Foreign Affairs conference room.
