President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teacher’s Union (SVGTU), Oswald Robinson said teachers have to make learning more innovative and fun so that children will want to attend school.
He made this statement during Monday’s opening ceremony of a two week training workshop for Early Childhood Educators.
Mr. Robinson said while teachers face many challenges, it is their responsibility to ensure that every child who is placed within their care, excels.
He said teachers have to constantly reflect on the objective of their jobs and evaluate how they disseminate information to their children to continue providing quality education, in a changing world.
Mr. Robinson said teachers have to be innovative and use the things available to them in the everyday environment to increase efficiency in their classrooms.
