Four Vincentians have been selected in a 14-member Windward Islands Squad to take part in the West Indies Under-19 Cricket Tournament Scheduled for Guyana later this month and early next month.
The players are Anson Latchman, Gidron Pope, Obed McCoy and Shammon Hooper. The team will be captained by Grenadian Ronald Cato, with Dominican- Kershakie Jno Lewis as Vice- Captain. The rest of the team is Deron Hypolite, Ryan John, Sherman Lewis, Melvin Gordon and Craig Phillips Grenada, along with Khamarl Hamilton Dominica and the St Lucian pair of Dornan Edwards and Tonius Simon.Four reserves in Romano Pierre- St Vincent and the Grenadines; Kevil Charles- Grenada, Josiah Hilton Dominica and Shadrack Descartes- St Lucia have also been named. The West Indies under 19 tournment is schedule to bowl off in Guyana from the 20th July to 16th August 2014.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines won its final game against St. Lucia at the Arnos Vale main playing field. Final results of the 2014 Windward Islands under 19 tournament is: 1st Grenada with 24 points, 2nd St. Lucia with 19 points, 3rd St. Vincent and the Grenadines with 18 points and 4th Dominica with 6 points.
