CARICOM leaders ended three days of discussions in Antigua/Barbuda last Friday, confident that they had laid the groundwork for re-positioning the regional integration movement in the changing global environment.
The leaders met from July 1st to 4th, and according to the host Prime Minister Gaston Browne the meeting was a very successful one
Mr. Browne said the centre piece was the approval of the community’s first ever strategic Plan.
But, St. Lucia’s Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony expressed concern about what he described as recycling of issues at the just concluded meeting.
Dr. Anthony said a more creative approach needs to be adopted by the leaders, to address the challenges of the current period.
