St. Lucia defeated St. Vincent and the Grenadines 26-22 in their 3rd round match of the 2014 North America and Caribbean Rugby Association NACRA 15-a-side Competition at the Mindoo Phillip Park in Castries, St. Lucia at the weekend.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines scored in the 3rd minute and moved ahead 5-nil. St. Lucia drew level in the 11th minute. St. Lucia took a 7-5 lead, after which St. Vincent scored twice in quick succession to make the score 17-7.
St. Lucia cut the lead to 12-17, narrowed the lead further to 14-17, then went ahead 21-17. St. Vincent and the Grenadines moved ahead 22-21, but in the final minutes of the match, St. Lucia was able ahead and win 26-22.
It was St. Lucia’s second consecutive win in the Championship, but Curacao topped the Group after a 42-12 victory over the British Virgin Islands BVI.
St. Lucia and Diamante of Martinique will meet this weekend.
