A National Strategy for Universal Health Coverage, will be discussed at a consultation set to take place here today.
The forum will be attended by representatives from the Public and Private Sectors, as well as Financial Institutions and Insurance Companies.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment will be collaborating with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), to host the event.
The Ministry says the consultation is geared at presenting and discussing the draft strategy document on Universal Health Coverage, as well as identify the country’s position with respect to the four strategic lines that are being proposed to achieve progress towards UHC.
The session takes place at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown from 9 this morning.
An opening ceremony will be held with remarks from the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Luis DeShong; Chief Medical Officer Simone Keizer Beache; and Executive Director of the National Insurance Services, Reginald Thomas.
The Keynote address will be delivered by Anneke Wilson, PAHO Country Programme Specialist.
