The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is making progress with the ongoing recovery effort in the wake of the floods of December 2013.
Word of this came from Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, as he addressed the gathering at a ceremony held in South Rivers last Thursday.
Eight residents of South Rivers whose homes were damaged or destroyed in the December floods, received keys to their new homes during the ceremony.
The Prime Minster said the Government is receiving funds from various sources, to rehabilitate infrastructure which was damaged during the floods.
Twenty seven houses have already been presented to persons whose homes were damaged or destroyed during the floods of December 2013.
The presentations will continue this week with ceremonies in Cumberland on Thursday and in Fancy on Friday.
