There was heated debate today from both sides of the House, on the Passport Amendment Bill, which was tabled by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves.
In presenting the Bill, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said it is intended to amend certain provisions of the existing law to effect better administration in the issuance of passports.
The Prime Minister said the amendment is also intended to validate certain passport fees.
Meanwhile … Leader of the Opposition Arnhim Eustace expressed concern about certain aspects of the Passport Amendment Bill. Mr. Eustace expressed the view that the legislation could send the wrong message to the international community.
