Vincentians are being encouraged to incorporate physical activities into their daily lives to reduce the likelihood of lifestyle diseases such as Chronic Non-Communicable diseases.
The advice came from Chief Nutritionist in the ministry of Health, Joyce Burgin, during the Police on the beat programme aired on NBC Radio.
The discussion formed part of a week of activities to observe Nutrition Awareness Week 2014, under the theme “Healthy Eating Active Living: Good Nutrition within Your Budget”.
Miss Burgin said physical activity is crucial to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Miss Burgin is also encouraging persons to use less salt in their diet.
