Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has made an appeal for persons not to trivialize the important issue of Reparation.
The Prime Minister was contributing to the debate on a Motion on Reparations Effort in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Prime Minister said a claim for reparation revolves around three criteria.
The private members motion, titled “State of Reparations Effort in St Vincent Grenadines” was tabled by government senator, Jomo Thomas,
It called, among other things, for the Reparations Claim to be lodged within the framework of the ten-point Reparations agenda adopted by Caricom at its Inter-sessional meeting held in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in March this year.
It also called for the case of Genocide and Slavery to be taken to the International Court of Justice and any other judicial or political fora for reparatory justice, on behalf of the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
