The International Airport Development Company (IADC) will move its series of Town Hall meetings to Ashton, Union Island next week.
The IADC says the meetings are being held as it continues its quest to ensure that all sectors of the Vincentian Society are ready to embrace the Argyle International Airport.
The Meeting is scheduled to take place next Thursday at the Ashton Learning Resource Centre under the theme: “Preparing To Embrace Our International Airport”.
Facilitators include; Communications Officer of the IADC Jennifer Richardson-Herbert, who will update residents on the progress of construction and investment opportunities in and around the airport.
A representative from the fisheries division will look at the impact of the airport on the fishing industry, while a stakeholder in the tourism industry will look at the impact of the airport on the tourism sector.
The IADC says it is essential that people are made aware of what is expected of them and offer some guidance as to how to proceed, so that they are in a better position to take advantage of the opportunities which will come from the operation of an international airport in this country, and is therefore taking the lead in this regard.
Next Thursday’s Meeting begins at 6:30pm.
Five other Town Hall Meetings have already been held in Kingstown, Stubbs, Sandy Bay, Troumaca and Bequia.
