Local Health Officials are focusing their attention on discouraging the use of tobacco as they participate in an initiative by the World Health Organization to reduce tobacco use across the globe.
This was the focus of discussion on NBC’s Views on Issues Program yesterday which discussed “the Effects of Smoking”
In his presentation Assistant Professor in Clinical Medicine at Trinity University School of Medicine Dr. Conrad Nedd stressed the need to create awareness among the youth population on the effects of smoking in an effort to reduce the incidences of smoking.
He says data from a Global Youth Survey conducted among students indicate that there has been an increase of tobacco.
The other panelists were President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Medical Association, Dr. Rosalind Ambrose; Labour Commissioner Fitz Jones and Lawyer Mikhail Charles.
