The floods of December 2013 inflicted damage and loss to the local livestock sector, to the tune of over 800-thousand dollars.
Word of this came from Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caesar, as he responded to a question during yesterday’s session of Parliament.
Minister Caesar said the Food and Agriculture Organization FAO, carried out an assessment of the damage and loss to the sector, and was able to determine that the damage was estimated at 673-thousand dollars and the loss was an estimated 200-thousand.
Minister Caesar also outlined the recovery plan which is being pursued by the Government, to help Farmers in this sector to get back on its feet
