Over 40 Farmers who regularly attend the Farmers Field School are involved in another major activity today.
A release from the Ministry of Agriculture says the Farmers are attending a session at the Home Economics Centre at Richmond Hill, where they will see a demonstration of the making of cottage cheese from goat milk.
The Ministry says the Farmers, who are all involved in rearing sheep and goats, are being given an opportunity to pursue another product line other than the sale of the animal for meat purposes.
Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Kathian Hackshaw says the training is part of the Farm Management Module included in the program, which is focusing on product development and value addition.
The training is being conducted by Veterinary Officer, Dr. Colleen Phillips.
