CGM Gallagher Novice won this year’s RSVG Police Co-operative Credit Union Clinchers Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Championship at the weekend with an 80-run victory over Dr. Thomas Injectors at the Richland Park Oval.
Andre Hunte 51 including 7 sixes and Elton Williams 23 staged a recovery for CGM Gallagher Novice from 34 for 5 to 137 for off their 20-overs. Quesmel Cottoy took 3 for 16 for Dr. Thomas Injectors.
Deron Dalloway then captured 3 for 4 and Trevor Bute 3 for 10 to dismiss Dr. Thomas Injectors for 56 off 19.5-overs.
Young Strikers defeated Better Brands Supreme by 7 wickets to clinch third place. The scores: Better Brands Supreme 72 for 3 off 10.1-overs; Osneth Cato 50 not out.
Nineteen teams took part in the Championship.
