Green Hill resident Jessica Bess was named the overall winner of the ECGC National Baking Competition which took place on Friday at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.
Ms. Bess, a Caterer and first-time participant, won with her entries Breadfruit and Salt-fish Bread and Tamarind Coconut Basket Cake.
Second place went to Ronnie Browne a local Chef from Jacaranda Villa in Mustique and third place was captured by Janine John of Camo’s Local Cuisine.
In the student category, best student went to Tavern LaidLow from the Bequia Community High School.
ECGC also awarded best category prizes to four participants.
Best in Bread went to Jessica Bess, Breadfruit and Salt-fish bread,
Best in cake went to Sabrina Marks Dasent – Exotic Chocolate Glilter Cake.
Best in Pastry Tivern Laidlow, Plum Cheese Cake.
Best in Specialty flour, Janine John, Cass- Pumpkin Mulit Cookie.
The Baking Competition is slated to be an annual event in ECGC’s calendar as the company continues its commitment to the development of the culinary arts in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
