Minister of Health Wellness and the Environment Clayton Burgin says his Ministry is committed to ensuring that St. Vincent and the Grenadines has a bright future, by making the investment in conserving and protecting its biodiversity.
Minister Burghin was delivering an address at a National Bio-diversitry Expo at Heritage Square yesterday.
He said the Ministry will undertake initiatives to sensitize the public on the importance of the natural resources that the island offers and the importance to protect, conserve and sustainably use the available resources,.
The Minister said in order to maintain diverse and healthy ecosystems, every individual has an important role to play.
The Bio Diversity Expo was organized by the Ministry to coincide with International Day for Biological Diversity.
The day was observed under the theme “Island Bio-diversity.
