The Ministry of Education is collaborating with the Eastern Caribbean Group of Companies (ECGC) to stage the annual ECGC Home Economics competition today.
Eight students will display their creativity in the finals of the competition, after out doing their counterparts in the preliminary and zonal phases.
The students are required to prepare items in the categories of Breads, Cakes, Pastries and Specialty Flour, using products of ECGC, as well as other local ingredients.

For the first time, the ECGC Home Economics Competition (for students) is being twinned with the National Baking Competition also hosted by ECGC.
The National Baking Competition targets local bakers, chefs and caterers, who prepare original recipes and submit items in the same categories of Breads, Cakes, Pastries and Specialty Flour.
Both competitions are being held today at the Kingstown Methodist Church Hall.
